Description

Our client is looking for a Technology Manager to organize, oversee and direct their global technology-driven solutions. This role would be aligned with the technology practice and be the key link between the development, product, digital, and project management teams. As part of an interdisciplinary team, this role will ensure that the business requirements and milestones are understood by the team and would address capabilities and gaps to drive on time, on budget, and on expectation delivery of the final product.

This will report into Senior Technology Manager and be the main point of contact for 4 Developers (1 x Back-End and 3 x Front-end) in the tech team.          

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, review, compile technology requirements and other documentation.

  • Collaborate with development team and PM to plan project sprints.

  • Educate, implement, and maintain development standards, trends, and best practices with user experience, design, copywriters, and other contributors and stakeholders.

  • Work with PM to support/create project plans/timelines.

  • Monitor workflow and make recommendations for timeline adjustments.

  • Remove impediments blocking the development team.

  • Communicate business cases, acceptance criteria, and user stories so they are understood by all teams.

  • Manage user stories and JIRA tickets alongside project BA’s.

  • Work with digital and account teams to ensure engineering tasks are feasible and reasonable, and ensure they are agreed on and understood by team.

  • Ensure on-time and quality deliverables.

  • Facilitate and support releases.

  • Triage and prioritize new requests.

  • Support PM team with third party (QA/vendors) technical impacts.

  • Help strategize and support development of MVPs.

  • Provide code development, testing, debugging, and additional Project Management support wherever and whenever needed/appropriate.

  • Review code pull requests from the development team (when required)

  • Guide product and tech teams on useful Scrum methodologies and producing agile artifacts (i.e. roadmaps and backlogs)

  • Interface with client Project Managers as a technical voice representing our team.

  • Represent the tech team’s needs and be a voice for them.

  • Lead, manage and support the project development team.

  • Mediate team issues/conflict (internally and externally)

  • Foster an inclusive and equitable environment.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • 3 + years of experience managing technology solutions, digital and/or mobile projects, preferably in a consulting, traditional agency, or digital technology platform environment.

  • Experience with people management and leading a team.

  • Experience implementing technology solutions in role(s) such as developer, producer, analyst, etc.

  • Experience with Front-end Web UI development and JavaScript libraries (Vue JS, React JS)

  • Familiarity with RESTful API architectures

  • Experience with backend development platform languages such as PHP

  • Experience with data pipelines and analytics

  • Experience with Martech industry

  • Experience of working with reliable DevOps solutions, continuous integration and continuous delivery

  • Experience with leveraging public cloud infrastructure (specifically AWS/EC2)

  • Advanced knowledge of development life cycles, web/mobile technologies and the delivery of solutions with creative and engineering components.

  • Advanced understanding of project management methodology including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk, develop detailed work plans and specifications, manage resource allocations and run team meetings.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate project team and inspire teamwork.

  • Experience in a broad range of collaboration and development tools.

  • Must be able to simultaneously focus on big picture, details and driving results.

Salary & Benefits

  • £50,000 - £65,000

  • Hybrid / remote working (London base)
